A Letter from OCT President, Mike Schott
Dear Friends,
What a joy it is to be at the helm of Olean Community Theatre during its 31st Season. When I look back, we were all many years younger, and OCT was in its infancy. So much effort on the part of so many people brought us to the point of where we are today. It is impossible to name them all because it literally numbers in the thousands.
When you start to thank people, the first inclination is to look
at the programs of all the shows that have been produced by OCT over the years, and see the hundreds of actors, technicians, artists, musicians,
and crew members that are listed. Every one, a volunteer, is vital to
the artistic creation that appears on the stage.
However, where you play a part is as a member of the thousands
who have supported us over the years: corporations and businesses who
have generously donated to our programming, businesses who have provided services to further our efforts, officials from schools and
organizations that have provided space for rehearsals and performance,
patrons who have been the backbone of our financial needs, donors to our Futures Fund who believe in what lies ahead, and everyone who has
purchased a ticket to one of our performances and supported our efforts
with your applause for what we have created.
Thanks to all of you, we are 31 years older and celebrating with a wonderful season of shows. May the enthusiasm and love of live theatre continue to flourish so that a future president can be thanking future generations during of OCT audiences.
